BookCard

Terms of Use

Last updated: May 2026

BookCard is published by Toolbelt. By installing and using BookCard, you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard End User License Agreement, which governs the iOS app itself.

The app, in plain language

BookCard is a personal book tracker. It runs on your iPhone. It is not a social platform, not a retailer, not a medical or legal tool. You're responsible for the content you log inside it.

Pricing

BookCard is free to download and use for unlimited books, scanning, rating, mood tagging, and reading log.

BookCard Pro ($4.99 one-time) unlocks Goodreads CSV import, iCloud sync, and custom shelves. Payment is processed by Apple and charged to your Apple ID. It is a one-time non-consumable purchase — there is no auto-renewal and no subscription.

What you may do

What you may not do

The book data

Book metadata (titles, authors, covers, ISBNs) is sourced from Open Library, a public catalog. Specific book covers may be subject to publisher copyright — they are displayed under fair-use principles for the purpose of helping you identify your own books.

Warranty disclaimer

BookCard is provided "as is" with no warranty. We make a serious effort to keep your data safe, but we do not guarantee against data loss. Export to CSV regularly if your library matters to you.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Toolbelt's total liability for any claim related to BookCard is limited to the amount you paid for the app (free, or up to $4.99 for Pro).

Changes

We may update these terms when we ship new features. Material changes will be summarized in the app's release notes.
